Delhi: 'Rescue animals stranded in pet shops'

Days after Animal Welfare Board of India (AWBI) wrote to chief secretaries of states, asking them to vacate and rescue animals from pet shops across the city- Delhi Society For Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA), animal husbandry department and Delhi Police have begun freeing the animals and sending them to Sanjay Gandhi Animal Care Centre (SGACC) where they will be kept temporarily. The birds will be sent to Delhi zoo.

Delhi: JLN stadium to turn into quarantine centre

With Covid-19 cases in the national capital on the rise, Delhi government has stepped up its fight against the pandemic by turning the city’s biggest sports arena – the Jawahar Lal Nehru (JLN) stadium at Lodhi Road – into a quarantine facility with “immediate effect” to house affected people.

Ggn: 3 buried in 15-ft-deep pit while walking home

A 168-km-long journey back home to their native place in Uttar Pradesh ended tragically for three labourers, who were found buried under soil in a 15-foot-deep pit dug up for construction of a power sub- station at Sakatpur in Gurugram on Monday.
