Punjab reports 132 cases of straw burning per hour

An average 132 cases of farm fires were reported per hour in Punjab on Sunday. Punjab authorities on Sunday picked up 3,162 stubble burning incidents using satellite imagery. On the same day in 2016 and 2017, there were 2,203 and 2,261 stubble burning cases, respectively. The stubble burning incidents this year is still 20% lower compared with the last two years.
