Demolition drive on Yamuna floodplain leaves many homeless

Punnya Khatun (45) has lived along the Yamuna floodplain opposite Lalita Park in east Delhi’s Laxmi Nagar for over seven years now. However, in the past 24 hours she has lost the roof over her head. Khatun has two children to take care of and her husband, who pulls a rickshaw has meagre earnings, one that will not be sufficient for them to find a home immediately.
