Over a third of slum dwellers in Delhi without jobs

Over 36% of slum dwellers in Delhi are unemployed and 48% of the households, with approximately five persons in each, don’t spend more than Rs 10,000 per month. According to a recently concluded survey of 4,262 households in 10 slums of East district sanctioned by the Directorate of Economics and Statistics, people gave a number of reasons for their unemployed status.
