Delhi airport’s Covid lab cancels notices, to hire more staff

Last month, about 150 staffers of Genestrings Diagnostics, the Covid testing lab at Indira Gandhi International Airport, were serving their notice period. PCR testing on arrival had fallen from a peak of 5,000-6,000 daily earlier this summer by almost 90% to 500-600 ever since flyers from the UAE were no longer required to undergo the same. And in mid-November, India allowed fully vaccinated and Covid-negative (from pre-departure test) travellers from 99 countries to skip quarantine.
