Prompt cops save 5 men under rubble in Delhi

Had it not been for police inspector Gurnaam Singh’s presence of mind, the rescue of five men from the rubble of the building that collapsed in Azad Market on Friday might not have been so successful. With a crane unable to reach the site because of the narrow lanes, the debris had to be removed by hand. Thinking on his feet, Singh ran to the madrassa nearby and requested the maulvi to send his students to help in the work.
