Delhi high court sets limits on initiating contempt for disobeyed directions

The Delhi High Court has ruled that not every violation of its directions warrants contempt proceedings, a decision made while hearing a petition by IFS officer Sanjiv Chaturvedi against the Intelligence Bureau. Chaturvedi sought the IB report on threat assessments to his life, but the court emphasized that contempt is a serious matter.
