Gokulpuri blaze: How small waste fires can turn fatal

The blaze in Gokulpuri, allegedly due to trash heaps, one of tyres and rubber items, another of cardboard, crackling into flames once again underlines the risk posed by what are considered minor fires. Last year, Delhi Fire Service received 2,137 calls related to fire in rubbish bins or garbage piles. Up to March 10 this year, 245 calls were made about such fires.
