The Ministry of Education has demanded an explanation from JNU Vice-Chancellor Santishree Dhulipudi Pandit for her unauthorized absence from a key conference of Central University Vice-Chancellors in Kevadia, Gujarat. Her decision to attend a concurrent JNU conference instead, despite prior notice of the central event, has drawn serious concern from the Ministry.
