Delhi: Where the Yamuna runs blue, kids dream of gold

Children in Sonia Vihar, Delhi, are now able to enjoy water sports activities in the Yamuna river, thanks to the efforts of the Sonia Vihar Water Sports Club. With visibly clean water, children aged six to 12 are able to wade into the river wearing safety jackets, while older children practice kayaking and canoeing. The club was initially formed to train BSF personnel, but has since opened its doors to local children. The club has seen success, with some members winning medals in dragon boat competitions, and now hopes to become a hub for water sports in Delhi.
