Govt okays project report for Chirag Dilli underpass

The Delhi government has approved the construction of an underpass at the Chirag Dilli intersection. A feasibility study found that over 10,000 cars pass through the intersection in 24 hours, making an underpass necessary. The design of the underpass will include the main carriageway, footpath, service road, and other components. A cost-benefit analysis will also be conducted. The underpass will provide a signal-free route for motorists, reducing congestion at the intersection. Similar heavy traffic volumes are observed at other intersections in the city.
