Delhi: 16% of vehicles entering petrol pumps with no PUC under lens

The transport department in Delhi conducted a pilot project in four petrol pumps to monitor vehicles without valid pollution under control (PUC) certificates. Cameras installed in the pumps captured the number plates and validated the PUC through the department's database. Out of 2,500 vehicles, 400 were found without a valid PUC, accounting for 16%. The department plans to expand the project if successful. Currently, there are over 950 stations in Delhi that issue PUC certificates.
