MCD to set in motion plan for upkeep of 1,400km roads in Delhi

The Municipal Corporation of Delhi is planning to select a project management consultant to finalize a Rs 62-crore plan for the mechanized sweeping and upkeep of over 1,400km of roads in the city. The project includes maintenance, cleaning, and desilting of the roads for a period of 10 years. The consultant will assist in finalizing the detailed project report, financial estimates, and assessment of the quality of work. The cleaning of the roads will include mechanical road sweepers, clearing vegetation, collecting swept material, and engaging antismog guns and sprinklers. The final decision will be made by the LG.
